Everybody has times in their life when they need help.
These times can include periods of loss, transition, or when experiencing overwhelming emotions and anxieties. I work from the approach of helping people identify and utilize their supports, inner strengths, and resilience to work through these issues. Everyone has a natural capacity to heal and can do so in a supportive and caring therapeutic environment.
I have worked as a therapist and a Registered Dietitian in a variety of settings. These include hospitals, home care, agencies, schools, group therapy, and private practice. I completed my MS degree from Case Western Reserve University in Nutrition and my M.Ed. degree from Kent State University is in Mental Health Counseling. While completing my degrees and working as both a RDN and a therapist, I was able to understand the unique medical and social problems individuals face and how these can often affect their ability to thrive. My approach is holistic and trauma informed. Specializations include EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples and specialize in anxiety, life transitions, health-related mental health concerns, relational difficulties, communication strategies, and other concerns that affect quality of life.
